The BioSensLab is a laboratory of the University of Udine, at Polytechnical Department of Engineering and Architecture. The mission of the Lab is to explore the new frontiers of wearables sensors with the goal of increasing human well-being. A particular research focus is dedicated to the stress detection of drivers.
With this perspective, the capabilities of the Lab include:
Development of novel wearable sensors from scratch, from simulation to high Technology Readiness Level (TRL>8) SMD prototypes
Development of Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for real time acquisition, visualization and processing of bio-signals
Digital signal processing with specific application to bio-signals
Features extraction for well-being estimation
Implementation of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms for stress detection
The Lab is equipped with Test and Measurement instrumentation for the development of wearable sensors, e.g.
300 MHz digital oscilloscopes
20 MHz waveform generators
Programmable power supplies
LCR meters
Multimeters
Soldering stations
In the Lab is also available a driving simulator including
Moving platform with three degrees of freedom
VR headset
65'' curved monitor and projector on 82'' curved screen
Two simulation softwares
